I have been wanting to build this model for several years.
Each of you know the excitement and anticipation of starting a new project.
Once again, I find myself a little inexperienced to build this kit but I'm confident it will get built.

I just received the kit. I'm starting tomorrow morning as I got three innoculations today and am under the weather.

I opened the boxes and all appears to be ok. I haven't done an inventory yet. I don't know that I need to as the kit was originally purchased from ZHL several years ago and subsequently I got it from @Dematosdg on our forum.
Ai started reading the instructions and find them less detailed than the Bluenose kit. Their are several build.logs online at YouTube and on this site. Even though it might be a different manufacturer the results should be the same. Maybe I'm overly optimistic on this front.

Ted, I don't think you have to be worry about the kit contents (inventory). I am sure that there has to be a part list. As I remember, ZHL was providing 30 days for any missing part(s) claim. For all the kits I got from ZHL I did check the parts list and verified all was there. And i did that immediately because I knew it will pass years before I start the built.... and now, I will never built it :-). After I checked all, it was boxed as it came and stored.

I am about 90% through completion of this kit. The materials are pretty good but I found I needed to buy blocks and other rigging materials (like rope) to replace the ones they provide. The rope is thick cotton and tough to work with. Also be very thorough and compare the 3-4 different plans, instructions, DVD etc. It can be very confusing and you need to cross-reference a lot! Good luck on the build and look forward to the updates!

Thank you, I came to the same conclusion on the ropes.
Where did you source the blocks and ropes
 
Here's the results from my first day.
Sorry about the por photo.
My last model is still on my table. I've been too sick to clean it off.
Tomorrow morning my wife is going to give me a hand and get the table cleared and ready for this build IMG20251011204640.jpg
 
All if the frames cut out. Keel glued. Time to start sanding char. The frame removal became easier once I switched to a rounded xacto blade. Their seems to be two English translations included. I haven't looked at the DVD yet. Perhaps even a third. The second set of instructions are much better. It seems it would behoove the Chinese manufacturer's to hire a bilingual model ship builder to review the instructions and make sure they actually contain English sentences. This couldn't cost too much and should enhance the appeal of their products. Were I qualified I probably could be bribed with a free kit or two. It just occurred to me that the instructions might be that bad in Chinese. Lol
At any rate I'm really enjoying this build; am impressed with the quality of the materials so far, and think I can see my way through for the next two or three steps with confidence
One more thing. This is going to be a really big model. Sorry for the repetition.

I have the lower gun backing platforms in place to hold the frames square.
They are not glued. Neither are the frames.IMG20251012131549.jpg
My question is would fillet glueing the frames in place be sufficient?
Their is a little bit of twist in the keel that is straightened by the above mentioned platforms.
I'm afraid of I glue the frames first I won't have time to get the platforms in place to assure straightness.
