ZHL San Felipe 1690 - Ted R

I'm at a nursing home temporarily to regain my strength after these few months of being ill. Today is Thanksgiving and I'm very grateful for improving in my health. I actually feel Good today.
I'm going to have my wife bring me the parts for cannon carriages and a few tools to get started again. It's busy work that needs to be done.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends .

Take care of yourself so you can come back stronger.

I've been out walking the hallways building up my strength.
I got my car today. Picked up some of the San Felipe parts and building tools and supplies. Tomorrow i can start work again.
I wish you all the best with the recovery, Ted. It’s good to read that you are on the positive side and have the energy to pick up some parts of your build.
Regards, Peter

Thank you Peter. I maxed myself out getting the. Kit materials out of my car and into this nursing facility. Everything was on a slope and I dropped a couple of bags on the way in. Eventually getting jammed at the entry door and being out in a wheelchair to get back to my room exhausted for the day. I was feeling pretty good about myself until this morning I realize I don't know if I left my car key sticking in the trunk. All that aside, I feel good this morning and will start on some incidenal parts to my build and that heals the soul as well as the body.

Ted, I had the exact same worry. So I measured these strips with a digital caliper- yup, 0.3mm- and compared them to the strips of sapele I used for second planking on my Occre Beagle- which were also around 0.3-0.4mm. In that case, 0.3-0.4mm gave me enough to be able to sand the hull (lightly!) to remove imperfections and get it smooth.
So there's enough material in 0.3mm to give us scope for a bit of light finishing.

Ok, you can see light through them if you hold it up in front of a lamp.

I'm searching for the next mini project I can do while hospitalized and settled in on the cannons. I'm hoping @AllanKP69 could send me some details in the gun carriages. The speciality book I bought on sprite sails ships fails to list cannons IMG20251202105912.jpgIMG20251202105933.jpgThe totality of information given is in two details. No rigging is indicated anywhere on the kit.
I want to provide rigging and all the hooks and rings that should be there.
I also noted that the front wheel axles are shown in a wood channel on the smaller cannon and both axles on the larger. Should i make these channels or should I use a solid block and drill the brass rods axles and glue into place
