Historic Artillery Gatling Gun by Model Expo

Ok here is my build of Model Expo’s Gatling Gun in 1:16 scale.

First post will be a kit overview.

The new and improved kit now comes with fine brass gun housing and barrels and front spacer disk. Along with most other parts are cast metal with a small bag of chin link. One page instruction with large diagram of the gun. A second sheet has parts listing and reverse side has updated instructions for brass gun assembly.

Following instructions I cut the lengths of brass tubes to specified lengths and test fit all pieces.

One thing I did was take a file to ruff up the surface of the gun barrels and body. To give them more of a cast metal look instead of smooth metal finish.

Next I dipped the brass parts in brass black to take the shine off the parts

I also cleaned up the support frame and ammo feed bracket and dipped them in Jax pewter black and got all gun pieces dried

Next up was starting cleaning and dry fitting the metal parts for the main parts of carriage. There are two halves of trail and a main axle and two side checks that support the gun frame unit. There are a lot of small parts that attach to main structure to be cleaned and installed
