Szkutnik Carved Ship Decorations - made by SZKUTNIK

Make all the carvings for 1:84 HMS Sovereign of the Seas and we will buy them!

Kurt@ - What is your price for a full set of the carvings to model SotS in scale 1:84? :)

From the technical side there is no problem, but I need about 3 years to do it. The quality as shown below bow figures for the model VASA.
VASA.jpg

I think, that it's better to design a completely new kit HMS "Sovereign of the Seas" in scale 1:72 than make all the carvings in 1:84.

Great, there has to be a Debbie downer as we say in every group. Nobody is forcing anybody to buy anything , and if a Gentleman in Poland feels like offering us some great model works we should be thankful . I do not see any conflict since nobody else is offering us such fine items. Why create a problem
Listen Grisel, that is not and was not ever my intention Skutnik is doing some beautiful work. as I mentioned.
I just think if any kits come out of this and are sold we should take leaf out of Trident and CAF's book re sticking within copy write guidelines whenever possible.

AHOY!

mrshanks@, GlennRich@ - There are many interesting, less known sailing ships which deserve for the modeler kit.

Therefore we have a one proposal for Members of SOS. (If there will be interest from modelers)
We can try to design and perform the modeling kit (or semi-kit) of the sailing ship, which will be chosen by members of the forum SOS. Of course we will need to the designing very good plans for the chosen model. Model - special edition for the SOS forum. Such a small proposition.
This sounds like a brilliant idea It'd definitely be worth looking into.
Keep us updated on moving forward

Ahoy Friends and model building collaborators... the model ship design I am currently working on will not be ready for prototype build until this fall, the final build will include a log on SoS by my customer, after that, if there is interest in the topic we "might" consider making it available for a limited run kit.

Szkutnik - there are only a few small carvings and decorations on the ship design I am drawing. You may indeed be able to help. I will reach out but it may be about 3 months or so from now. I know you agree how long these things take.

My CNC machine and 2 commercial lasers will always be warm.....but only for SoS members. :)

Frank, can you post some pictures please ? I'm interested in ordering rigging blocks too.
Actually Brian , I got these blocks some time ago, I was referring to another set of blocks. I have pre-rigged most of my yards/masts, so don't have any pics of the blocks separate, so i've attached pics of some semi rigged blocks. There is also a pic of triple blocks in a packet. You can also get the blocks unstained, these were ordered pre-stained. Hopefully it's ok to show these and basically plug a company.P1070110.JPGP1070112.JPGP1070122.JPGP1070124.JPGP1070125.JPGP1070126.JPG

These blocks look decent amati used to produce them like this now they all seem to be square just like caldercraft etc. These definitely look more real

Ahoy!

Mike@ - It is very good idea. BUT first - I need to see the drawings of model, what is her name?, what is the scale of the
model? Secondly - I will agree. :)

About 10 years ago, our blocks were in Amati sets. After the supplier of blocks was changed.

Ship name, ship scale :) Hello good friend I will say this. The work I am doing is for a customer who is a member of SoS. He had a family member who sailed aboard this very famous vessel. Many months ago he provided me plans from the Smithsonian for this ship. We have been working together to develop plans for a POB model that he intends to build from parts I will fabricate. I will also build a prototype. That work will not happen until this winter. When we are ready, my customer and/or I will write a build log and share.... if there is interest, we "might" offer a limited kit run for this ship. This ship has NEVER been a kit and there have been VERY FEW models of it ever built. I cannot reveal more than that right now.

Yes, Szkutnik I would like to work with you and get your help on carved decorations for this work. There are not many. We can collaborate when that time comes.

In addition, Szkutnik and others... my fabrication shop is located here in the USA... I am happy to work with you to produce parts of any of your designs to help SoS modelers... I can do both CNC and Laser on a professional level. I am not looking for money or profit... only to help model builders. I make my money in a completely different industry. Model building is my hobby.

Your blocks look very good indeed. I might be able to help you improve on them from a fabrication perspective.

OK. Understood almost all is TOP SECRET :)
I waiting for decoration drawings. I need shape and dimensions of decors. That's all.

It's the same in my case. Model building is my hobby. I am a seaman and I work on large gas carriers.

Hi Kurt,

Carriages for the cannons..................... Yes, we producing carriages for dedicated models for private orders.

We are currently designing English cannons with carriages in scale 1/64 for a member of SOS forum :) - fully detailed.
View attachment 159643View attachment 159644
Wooden parts of the carriage will be cut by CNC milling machine. NOT CUT BY LASER. The product will be without burned marks. It is not necessary to polish the burned edges by sandpaper.

We are open to any suggestions, any ideas. If we will be able to help modelers, then we will help them.

Great work.
I would certainly be interested in a range of 1:48 scale English cannon, carronades, and carriages (Circa 1770-1800).
Nine pounder & Six pounder cannon. 18 pounder carronades. Also swivels.
Let us know when and if available.

Circa 1770-1800 were many types of English cannon. I need exact drawings of cannons. Write the name of the model for which you need a cannons.
