Old photos of Bluenose dockside, aboard, fishing. Also plans of the lower deck compartmentation are of specific interest.
I have found a few but am looking for more that provide details that distant racing photos do not provide. I am really interested in what most modelers do not consider or include. . . the lower deck compartmentataion and bulkheads for mess, berthing, salt locker and salted fish hold, foc'sl area, anchor chain & cable storage, etc. . . . I don't know if those plans are around but it is a "for interest" thing only, not for me to include in the build but make it more realistic in my mind. What ever leads that are known would be appreciated for my inquiring mind. Are you looking for or you have?
The quality of your micro work is astounding!!! Did you consider as you work that you could be a watch maker with all of the fine work that goes into your and other projects? It does through mine but I am not at the small scale that you achieve.um... okay.
Thank you very much. It looks like what I was hoping to find and have made an order. This book is on the Bluenose 2 but it has TONS of exactly the kind of information you are looking for. Maybe it could help?
I had the opportunity to view this work at a museum/archive last year to get some rigging ideas. It was incredibly helpful for that but also for getting and idea of what life aboard was like. A beautiful blend of technical precision and art. This book is on the Bluenose 2 but it has TONS of exactly the kind of information you are looking for. Maybe it could help?
Thanks again for the lead. Somewhere out there there may be more coverage of the original Bluenose being a national treasure of Canada and Nova Scotia there must be more authors and historians who have publications to be found but I'll wait to see the book ordered.I had the opportunity to view this work at a museum/archive last year to get some rigging ideas.
