I want to show you, or better give you the link to a very interesting tutorial of making blocks with metal rolls written by a friend of mine some years ago.

It is written in german language, but you can find a lot of photos showing the principles and also the jigs he produced and used, and in time of google translate and other translation apps it will be no problem for you......
The modeler is Joachim Müllerschön alias @shipshobbyist , who is known by some of you by the construction of his amazing model of the Amerigo Vespucci in scale 1:84.
