This build is not as easy as i thought, It has turned into a nightmare I have sooo much on my hands, then on the ship ,I squared off the bulk head's one at a time, glued them, then put the first deck, STILL crooked as a snake. My wife think's it looks like it has been a battle and lost!!!!

The often recommendation that cannot be passed by is to dry fit, remove and adjust (file/sand), dry fit again. . . over and over until the part and all parts fit as they should. Sometimes I get in too much of a rush and don't do that as rigorously as I should. Usually it is not an alignment problem but over filing and creating gaps that need to be filled by shimming or if small some glue and sanding over the crack to work the sanding dust into the space and let it dry. It only works if your intended finish can accept the glue/sawdust line. Just a thought. Rich (PT-2)

As a total newcomer to planking I decided to join the Canoe Group with their strip canoes which was an excellent path for me to take (two canoes) and watch the improvement in process and outcome with the second. It is a low cost, straight forward build, that lets you practice some skills needed for more complex builds. Sails and guns are not the only elements in a well crafted floaty boaty as one of our SoS members uses as his call sign. Good luck and stay with it. Rich (PT-2)

Just put the model aside and start an easier kit. You can go back to the model when you're more experienced.

Sooooo sooo many people jump in with both feet and get over whelmed.... Brian077 just gave the best advice possible... Start with something simple, take your time.... research, ask questions. If you get frustrated (we all do) walk away and come back tomorrow. Plus, I found a good remedy for frustration, is a big bottle of booze. ;)
