i am confused with plans for attaching lower yards on masts. Rigging plan sheet shows two different closeups unless I’m reading it wrong.
One shows blocks attached to eye bolts and the other shows blocks coming from around mast. My inexperience is now showing.
I feel there are many steps not fully described or defined. Unfortunately I do not have any books on ship rigging to use as reference. I have read what little directions are in booklet and studied plan sheet for hours with no clear answers.
I have viewed the build log for KTAM Rattlesnake. Amazing, I can only wish I could do as well. One of biggest issues is when to do certain parts.

Hallo Patrick,
like mentioned in earlier posts it would be very good in principle to start a building log, especially if you have a problem to show the situation or status, so we can much easier try to help in a certain problem.
Related to the yard arm problem - can you make a photo of the described drawing details - so we can take a closer look and try to bring you into the best direction.....

this is where Im getting confused. 2 different pictures on yard mounting. As I stated the instructions seem to assume the builder has prior knowledge. I am ready to start the shrouds and was looking ahead to when/how to attach yards. I do not find detailed instructions on them either. With all my my questions and confusion I have to say I love this kit and do not regret building it. I have been searching for answers here and YouTube for help.
There is a big difference in instructions between Model Shipways and Artstana Latana Mare Nostrum.
That ship had step by step instructions with measurements .

This is my progress to date. I acknowledge there are errors due to my
inexperience.

The two different pictures are for two different pieces of rigging. The one on the left is for the jeers/halyard that support the yard. The one on the right is for the truss. Both pieces of rigging need to be installed.

Hello Patrick, I would suggest that you install your Shrouds first and then do your Ratlines then your Stays before you tackle the Yards. By installing your Yards now it will make it very difficult to do this work later, just my two cents worth.

I think you are looking at three different rigs to accomplish two different tasks. The first task is to hold the spar against the mast. This rig uses parrals as rollers that allow the spar to move up and down and back and forth against the mast. Some yards just use a rope rig for the same purpose with no parrals. Thus on the right side you see the illustration for rib and truck parrals. The second rig needs to raise and lower the yard. This is a set of block and tackle rigs that either attach around the mast using blocks to hold in place or attached to eye hooks under the cross trees. If I understand your confusion you are looking at two different ways to rig the blocks to raise and lower the yards depending on where they are located on the mast and the parral rig that holds the yard against the mast as it moves. If this does not help please restate your confusion and we can try again to help.

What I do when rigging yards and spars is attach the yard to the mast where it needs to be with a pin and glue. I drill straight through the spar into the mast...add glue...then run a pin through the spar into the mast. Clip off the end of the pin when dry. Once pinned and glued I can proceed with the rigging without having to juggle the loose yard at the same time. I rig the parral set first. Hope is helps...

I found myself in the same predicament and decided to go with the picture with the note "for all lower yards". Basically, a line attached to either side of the yard via however detailed you want to get, up through the jeer blocks (pic #2). The jeer blocks hang from a lanyard strapped to the mast (pic #3).

After passing through the jeer (?jear?) block the line then goes down to the bitts via double blocks hooked to the deck and belayed to the bitts
(pic #1)
