Harvey 1847

You're very welcome. There's actually 25 years tied up in this duild. I built the hill and fully planked it, planked the deck, and it looked beautiful. Then my family and I moved to a new place that wasn't conducive to building something of this magnitude, so I packed it away, and a couple moves later and 20+ years, I got the itch to build another ship. But the Harvey called to me, and I told myself I had to finish this build before I could buy another kit. It took me almost six months to finish it once I started it again. The results were very satisfying, and I had to ask myself what the heck I was waiting for? Lol

My story is similar. I started to build AL Harvey 1847 Baltimore Clipper in 2001. I took a little break from the build only a 19 year break. The build is moving along now slow and steady. I do love the hobby,

I have almost an identical story. Started it and got as far as ready to build the masts, the sails and do the rigging. Then like a few of you here, I put it away for 20 years. Quarantining had me looking for something to do so I got it back out. I want to build the Constitution because my grandfather was a government timber inspector and I have a photo of him standing next to a rail car stacked with timber and with a sign that said, "For the U.S. Constitution." It was for the refurbishment of it in the '30s. I also have the hammer he used to mark logs for the government. So I want to build the Constitution and display it with those items. But like was said here, I felt I should finish the ship I started. I've now sewn the sails and am in the process of doing the rigging. I'll post photos when done. Anyway, really nice job on your version!
