I was going to build the USS Constitution but changed my mind and decided to build the Occre Nuesta Senora de Pilar. It looks to me like the direction I want to go to learn more detailing techniques. Not and inexpensive kit by the way. I ordered it yesterday and they show a delivery date of Oct 28th - Nov 3rd. I'll need to get everything from my last build put away and get everything cleaned up to get going. It will certainly be my winter project. Glad my shop is heated!Nuestra1.jpgNuestra2.jpg

One grand for a model? Can't wait to see the build log on this Phil.

You're a lucky guy, I'd be pulling pieces of my wife's boot out of my butt for weeks if I spent that kind of money on model. :)

I'm thinking the original cost is just the start. There will certainly be some 'kit bashing' to improve realism and detail. I am hoping the threads are decent too. Otherwise, I'll make my own ropes/lines as needed too. This is technically my 'Christmas gift' and if its like my last build, it'll be very time consuming. Really looking forward to stepping up my craftwork.

I am thinking this time I should consider a build log. I have a few hundred pictures from my last build but didn't properly strt a log. I'll take some pics of the packaging, contents and maybe close-ups to reveal the quality the components.

Hi,
Why is it so expensive...? Taxes? In France you can have it for 400 euros.
Regards.

WOW! This kit is £392 ($536) here in UK. That's some hike in price - can't be all shipping [intended pun] ?

Hi guys, I'd like to make a recommendation to give Cornwall Model Boats, here in the UK, a try for kit prices & shipping to the US, having seen the 'mark up' on Philski's OcCre kit. I've found them to have the best prices + a discount if one joins the club. (I don't know if the club membership is exclusive to UK or not).
