Here's a shot of my liberty ship build returning from sea. This was my first and probably my last build in this scale due to eye strain. This was also my first attempt at using PE parts (which I can truthfully say i ruined a few pieces). I tried to dirty her up as she was a WWll working supply ship and I'm sure she took a lot of abuse.

great job of weathering the model. Its turned out wonderful.
Many thanks Brian for your comment. I used some weathering powders, graphite and liquid rust on this kit. This was my 2nd attempt with weathering a ship. My 1st model with weathering was Revells 1/72 Gato sub that I built to honor my father-in-law who served aboard three submarines. Your work on your H.M.S. Enterprise is fantastic! Excellent work!!!!

The weathering looks realy good, especially if it is the second try.
I never made weathering on a model, so I can only speculate, but I think it is hard not to make too much which would not look like realistic.......great work

Thanks Uwek. Originally, I used less weathering but several people told me these ships were even dirtier than I have now. A lot of grime and days at sea with these ships. ;)

Thanks Brian for your compliment - and as Dali once said, "Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it." I love your photo - he's one of my favorite artists!

Hi ,Fright
Nice model,i like all modulations of colors, great job :):)
Many thanks for taking a look at this ship. By the way, I see you are fairly new to this site - Welcome Aboard! There is some fantastic talent in here and a great way to improve on one's skills ( I hope ) LOL I'm looking forward to the day I feel confident to try my hand at a POB wooden kit. Cheers!

i am an ex 1/35 tank builder so ive used massive amounts of weathering. since I have been doing 1/350 warships I have backed way off. this beautiful weathering job has inspired me to be a little less cautios about keeping my ships squeeky clean. great work!
