Modelling Materials

HI, I have heard and read that woods such as Box, Sycamore, Pear and Holly are good modelling materials. Has anyone tried Obeche? It appears to be a straight, close grained, knot free hard wood with a density of 390kg/m3 that would be between Box 930kg/m3 and Balsa 160kg/m3.

I have acquired some for my next plank on frame scratch build (Seagull) and wanted advice before use….thanks.

Hello ,I used obeche for planking my hull and is a very good wood for this purpose
Bend easily , very good for sanding
