De Agostini HMS Victory items for sale
Having built this 1/84 scale model a while ago I have some left over items I want to dispose of.

These are :-
the full set of the 120 part-work magazines detailing the building of the model plus other historical articles contained in the ten De Agostini binders

A total of 38 metal figures - 14 already painted in acrylics and 24 in bare metal. These include mostly gun crews for the cut-away hull version in 5 or 6 different ‘poses’ plus 1 Nelson figure and one deck officer.

A part-built hull with lower decks already fitted (not built by me) which appears to be all square and straight. Planking has not been started on it.

Please note many of the magazines have been ‘annotated’ or have scribbled notes I’ve added during the build but this does not interfere with the photo illustrations of instruction txt in any way. They also contain the full scale plans of all masts and spars plus extra instructions for the optional cut-away hull section and gun crews assembly.

I can supply photos of the hull, figures or sample magazine and binders if required.

I have no idea if there is any interest in anything here or what to ask as to prices for any of these things – I’m not looking to make lots of money from them but I’d have to charge to cover the cost of postage as appropriate plus a little extra – open to offers.

Thanks for reading this, let me know if you’re at all interested in anything here ……happy modelling!

Amendment to this post ....
SORRY - should have read 'contained in the six De Agostini binders (i.e. 20 issues per binder) my excuse - old age!

Photos would be helpful! I am interested in the binder/magazines. Thanks

I understand. If you do sell John the plans for the spars and masts, as he requested, then I am not sure I would be interested in the remaining magazines.

I would be interested in the figures and mast plans if you are willing to part those out.
Figures - yes but mast plans are part of the magazine collection so would want to keep this intact. I'll post some pictures of the figures shortly.

Photos of the various items described above as requested. The magazine page shots are just to show my 'scribble' (usually in pencil) - generally just the date I completed that part of the build.

If anyone needs more detail or dimensions etc please let me know. Thanks for looking & happy Easter!

Thanks for taking and posting the photos Mike. How much are you asking for the magazines? And, as I live in the USA, in California, would you have an idea of the shipping costs?

Hi again,
I have no idea what to ask for the magazines - I'd say tell me what they're worth to you - as I said before I'm not looking to make lots of cash from them and certainly don't want to rip off a fellow model maker!
I think postage will probably be quite high but I'll get a few estimates from parcel companies later today- I think our Post Office overseas mail price will be too expensive.
I'll get back to you when I have some info. Happy Easter!
Mike

Hi Michael (I presume)
I’ve just started having a look at some firms who offer overseas parcel handling but it seems to be a complicated and obscure kind of area - much depends on delivery speed, pick up from home or drop off somewhere etc etc.
It might be easier for you to explore the subject from your end so you can specify the service you’d like. You will need the dimensions and weight of the package which are as follows:- (in cm) the box holding six binders and 120 issues is 40 long by 40 wide by 24 high and the total weight (using my luggage scales) is around 9 kg; the parcel volume would be about 38,400 cubic cm.
I don’t know whether there’d be any Customs involvement or duty to consider with this shipment but you might like to look into it. Hopefully, armed with this info you can see whether it’s feasible to proceed.
obviously you have first refusal on the magazines and I’ll be happy to hold on to them until I hear from you one way or the other.
Best regards
Mike

Thanks Mike. I guess I will have to take a pass on this as I just discovered that the magazines are available online in a pdf format. I am sorry I didn't know this earlier.

The shipping calculator from the UK to my California address estimated the cost to be just over $100. USD.

I am actually building a digital model of the Victory using the program, Blender. I apologize for making you take the photos. I should have looked up Deagostini online before making my initial request.

No problem, just glad you’ve found a solution without spending loads of cash!
All the best

Hi John,
Further to my earlier reply I have now heard from the guy who was interested in the magazines etc that he has decided not to follow this up so, if you're still interested in the masts & spars plans and/or the figures please let me know.
The plans are on 4 fold-out sheets (bowsprit + fore, main & mizzen masts and their spars) all at full-size 1 to 1 scale. The plans have some traces of scribble and blu-tack where I worked on them but all are perfectly clear and usable. If you'd like photos let me know.
Cheers,
Mike

hartelijke groeten

Mike
