I am wondering what your thoughts on practicums, primarily Lauck Street versions. Are they very detailed? And can you use the procedures on other models? How about scratch built ships? Any suggestions?

I would suggest you would be better placed to spend more on a kit than purchase a practicum.
We are here to help you if you run into issues with your build. In addition, there is so much information on this forum for reference.

just my 2c worth. cheers.

It depends on what information you are after. They are pretty complete. I have a few because I have the kits to build and I figured it was better to have too much information than too little. He also has a series of books on scratch building. I can't speak to these, but I've seen then on his site.

I hope that helps.
