Jabeque by Occre

2 weeks ago this kit went on sale at a local hobby store and I just could not resist. Even though I have 3 other ships on the build table
I really liked the shape and the lines on this ship so put all the others on hold and jumped on this.

I was non going to post a thread on this but I was very pleased on how it is coming along so I just wanted to share.

After checking some of the builds here of the Jabeques by few of the members here I was very impressed.
I have never done any wood carving at all, but I really wanted to try so I went to a local specialty wood supplier here in Toronto and got some box wood.
Took my old jewellery tools that I had kicking around for 30+ years and tried, here are my first results

tomorrow morning I am going to a Jewlers supplier and picking up some new carving tools and give this a good kick and see what I come up with

Carving is really not easy and definitely not fast to learn -> I think you are on a very good way (definietly much better than I could)

waiting for some new carving tools to arrive from Amazon, so I did some work on the deck fittings today.

Thank you, I am going to try my best, I put the 2 larger ships on hold for a while to gain some experience with this model but I am really liking this ship.

I am really crazy when it comes to tools a bit of a tool junky
