Good afternoon. Way to go. I also added a figurine on the stem - I think it adds to the ship. I’m impressed with your carvings- awesome and respect. I have to cheat and 3D print mine. Your Xebec is getting its own “personality “ and I really like it. Cheers Grant

Three more hours today and some more carvings, I have been very impressed with the little scroll saw from proxxon, it cuts the smallest detail with great precision.

Took a bit of a break from carving and did some building today, the cast pumps looked so off that I decided to make my own and the same goes for the bell tower. However I am not happy with the bell tower. The walnut wood that I had in my pile is just too grainy I need to get some walnut with finer grain.
Today I went and looked for some nice raw material and purchased a slab of Swiss pear, very nice wood thighs smooth grain more suitable for making small parts, so I replaced the bell tower from yesterday. And managed to get more work done on the deck fittings
Have not posted in for a few days, after a small mishap with the table saw last week had to take a few days off. Then decided to change pace and work on the ships boat. Here it is half way so far

Today a Amazon dropped off another wonderful tool at my doorstep so I put to use and carved another piece for the stern

This has to be the best precision drill ever made
Another day in the shipyard did some more work on the deck fittings, and a couple of arches for the poop deck.
i just can’t stand the cast metal fittings provided with the kit, so most of the Walnut for these parts came from this big chunk left over from a huge live edge slab that I had left over from a mill work project
