Hi all, need some info, as I am upgrading my tools, one question there is a hand held proxxon hand held belt sander the cost is $150.00 then I happened to see a WEN model and the price is $0.00, why the difference, do not mind the price of the PROXXON but what is the difference that causes such a different in price. THANKS FOR ANY HELP Don

I have the Proxxon Belt Sander. Very solid tool and works wonderfull.
But I am not using it for ship modeling, due to the fact, that I can not imagine when or where I could use it.....
The mentioned tool from WEN costs realy 0 US$ ? - I guess you forgot one number......
Think about, if you realy do need a handheld belt sander, Or maybe another toll could be better and worth the money.

Just use flexible sanding sticks, much better than this tool
Yes
The Proxxon belt sander is too strong and in principle you have everytime alternatives, which can be used with more accuracy.....

I have a "no name" hand held belt sander. It is very effective tool and you can easily remove too much material with it. I use it for fairing the bulkheads made of plywood. For this work it is nice, because fairing manually with sandpaper is hard, at least for me.

Yeas guess thats the only place you can use that tool on a model,For fairing I am using my Permagrit tools, check them out here, very effective tools.
