My name is Ridley, I am a builder of model steam engines but have always a fondness for the intricacies of wooden ships. I recently purchased a model of what I believe is a Norwegian vessel named the Justitia. The model maker has long passed on and there isn't much info online. If anyone knows anything about this model or the type of vessel it is and any tips on cleaning, it would be much appreciated. Regards

Welcome to the forums !
Sorry, I don't know about the model. It looks nice.
For cleaning, you can use a small paint brush and get a very small vacuum for specifically for cleaning models. Maybe try Micro Mark.

Some canned air and some small brushes will be helpful.

Hi Ridley, there’s lots of Aussies here. Welcome.
Thanks Bryian, I am going to build one more steam engine then I will have a look at building a ship, there is a chap in our club, [The Geelong Society of experimental and model engineers] who is building the USS Constitution 1797 and he is loving transition from metal to wood. I will post some photos when he finishes. Cheers

also from my side a warm welcome here on board of our forum

Welcome to the forum, and nice looking ship you have to keep and maintain.

Might think about a display case after you get her cleaned up to your liking.

The mystery of the ship at the top of this thread has been solved. The owner Rhonda, of local Melbourne shop called 'Float a Boat' was able to tell me it was a Billings kit called 'Norske Love' I have just ordered the kit from UK and will start it as and when I finish 'Mary' a model steam beam engine. This is a great forum.
Cheers Ridley
