I have always wanted to build the USS Constitution. I am having difficulty finding sources for the 1:96 scale version. It looks like to me that it is no longer being offered by anyone that I can see. Revell doesn't seem to offer it anymore . Even though I would love to build the Model Shipways or other wood versions, I can't afford them at this time and Revell was a good compromise. There are some shown on Ebay but I am leery of purchasing them there. Any help/advice as to where I can find this kit would be appreciated, Revell or otherwise.

Thanks for any help,
Jim Lawrence

There's a number of them on ebay.
Also check your Facebook Marketplace for listings local to you and by-pass the ebay shipping gougers.
Craigslist, Goodwill, and a few other online selling sites often have one or so listed.

I’ve had very good results with EBay. Just check their past history and do business with ones that have been around a while and have a good reputation and verify that the eBay “Money back guarantee is displayed in the listing.

I have quite a stash of plastic sailing ships, which include Revell's Constitution and 2 Cutty Sarks.
Plus a pile of the excellent Airfix ship kits.

Most were sourced on ebay, and as long as you examine the provided photo's and read the vendors description, I'v never bought a 'dud'.

Have you found one yet? I have several. I will gladly send you one for postage/shipping only.

Sorry for the long delay. I kind of got off track and re-found this thread. Thanks for the offer. Let me know what you have and I'll check them out.

Jin,

I have several of the old 1960s era kits without sails but with a booklet of the ship's history. I also have two of the 1990s -early 2000 kit with sails but without the booklet. Thank you for getting back to me!

I just received my order of the Prince de Neufantchel kit from Model Expo (Model Shipways). It looks like an interesting build. I am looking for build instructions in PDF format and have not had any luck. I prefer PDF because my eyesight has degraded over the years and I can handle plans on a computer screen better. If you know of any I can download, I would appreciate it. I"ll also keep your Constitution offers in mind.

Many/most of their kits have the instructions you can download, but not that one.
First, I would contact Model Expo Customer Service and ask them if they have it available.
If that doesn’t work, take them to an Office Depot or other print shop and ask how much they would charge to scan them into a PDF. Make sure you bring a thumb drive (USB drive) to put it on. It’s pretty reasonable .

Youmay have to tell them it’s for your own use and you’re not going to distribute it.
