Dear all

After the sad news concerning Jim Byrnes passing away, the site was reopen.

For those waiting to place an order, you can do it now.

I am not related at all with the Business. I am just posting this news, because this weekend, the business was still closed. Today I checked and is open again.

Sad news of Jim Byrnes passing away. :(
Also unfortunately this might be the end of their products. I was not able to find an option to order new table saw. They list only some accessories. See the link.

BEST hobby saw ever made!

1. BEST model saw ever made.
2. Even if you do not currently need one, buy one anyway and just put it on the shelf.
3. I have had mine for 12 years and use it virtually every day. INVALUABLE. It will probably last another hundred years. Byrnes really built the "Abram's" tank of model saws.
4. I may buy a second saw just for the "helluvit".
5. Great legacy. R.I.P.

Я, думаю, семье потребуется некоторое время, чтобы определиться с будущим бизнесом, не говоря уже о том, чтобы сделать какое-либо публичное заявление. Очевидно, что мы все применяем любое их решение.
Это так. Без всяких сомнений!

This is true. Without any doubt!

My success with contacting anyone at "Model Machines" has not been fruitful. The site itself looks and functions as in the past aside from the Jim Byrnes memorial.
I Thought I would upgrade my saw to the 18" version while it may still be available. I have used the site e-mail feature twice and called once in the past 10 days or so to see if that process was still available. No response. I have to assume no one is manning the store at this point. Does anyone have any insight as to their plans going forward? :(

No idea of what could be their plans, but i placed 3 orders of parts listed on the web site and I got them without absolutely any issue.

I looked over the web site in detail after your post. I find that all of the machine assemblies have been pulled off. All that exists are parts and "some" accessories. The 18" table retrofit is still there with instructions. I am going to classify that as an oversight. It appears to me that for now the site remains to burn off excess inventories. Bummer!!

I have the the power switch not firing issue on the table saw, does anyone know what is the part name/number that needs replacement?
I also have another issue with the arbor bearings, its hard to spin and and saw is not even cutting soft wood anymore, only 4 years of use :( no idea how to fix this, the bearings seem to be out of place, can anyone post a photo of the arbor area to see the allignment of things? mine seems off, I will update with photos.

I also have the disc sander with adjustable speed and the thinkness sander, the last is still working but the disc sander has died, the motor burnt out. I'm looking for the same motor but I can't find it anywhere, any suggestions or solutions?

as for the table saw blades I have succsefully upgraded the saw to a bigger blade with no cosmatics downside at all, the same look like before and with bigger carbide blade, I will also share the process but as I never posted here and don't know where to post the process of converting, can anyone suggest where to post this info? what forum what topic... etc. Finally I hope that we can overcome any current or future issue with these machines, please share your experience and findings so we can benifit all.

Hello Rafael,
I have been using my Byrnes thickness sander, disc sander and table saw for 15 years without issues.
I cannot comprehend why the motor on your machine would burn out.
its the newer 4" variable speed disc sander with the DC motor, it was heating up and smoking after seconds of use for a couple of days before it totally burned out.

I purchased an item from them two weeks ago. If you can find it in their menu and priced they are available. However, I have had the same issue with responses to general questions.

I’m looking to purchase the table saw. I don’t see that it is available. I was bidding on a brand new one on eBay that someone bought and never even opened the box. It sold for over $4000. Ridiculous.

Well I’ll be darned. Donna just replied to my email. I’m thrilled. What a lovely lady. My heart breaks for her. I’m a recently retired RN. ALS is one of the worst neuromuscular diseases. Let’s all keep her in our prayers.

You'll need to replace the Roller bearings. The specific part number will depend on your saw’s model. Check the manufacturer's parts list or consult the user manual. Bearings must be correctly aligned to ensure smooth operation. Misalignment can cause excessive wear and improper cutting.
