RLF = Rat Line Fun! Starting the most tedious part of the build (in my opinion of course)! Doing a little bit at a time to get it done. I switched out the ratline thread to a thinner material (DMC Chardonnay ECRU 30). Just doing the spacing by eye. 52,000 clove hitches.....20241210_140416.jpg20241210_140426.jpg

Hi there, just a wee comment to make. I think this kit is listed at a scale of 1:46, so the spacing for the ratlines should be just under 6mm (5.8) for an 11inch step.
I've just completed a re-work of HMS Pandora, Constructo kit bash, at 1/87 scale and that took over 9,000 tiny clove hitches.

I understand your interest. I am keeping the ratlines at approx .25" which works out to be 6.6mm for 1/46 scale meaning it would be a foot. My choice of course. This isn't going to be in a museum anytime soon and 1/4" (approx - I am doing it by my calibrated eye....) works well for me, my neuropathic fingers and such....

May I ask what the beams are which are laying on the deck? Square on one end and round on the other?
