My name is David Clinkenbeard. I live in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Are you a member of the SW Florida Ship Model Club? Great bunch of guys. . I wish I could attend the meetings on a regular basis, but so far it has not worked out. Hopefully I will get there more often in 2025 and meet the guys again, and hopefully you as well.

Finally found 3 pictures of ships I have made -- from scratch, that is no plans or drawings.
This one I call the Lucy L after my granddaughter

The next ship is my Schooner I call The Daphney again after my second granddaughter.

I am starting another build of the Flying Fish. Got plans at 1/8'=1' for a ship that is 25" long and doubling them for final ship that is 51" in length with a Beam of about a foot and a depth of about 10".

If your all interested I will keep a Journal as soon as I learn how to use it.

I am a retired Mechanical Engineer with a very understanding wife. We have been in Florida 16 years fron California and Wisconsin.

Thank-you for the welcome.
Dave

Hello Dave,

Very nice work on your scratch builds. I would be very interested to see a build thread of your Flying Fish. I am very interested in clippers and am planning to do a scratch build of a clipper also.

Being new at this, what is meant by "thread"???

Build log or build thread. I’m not sure why they are called threads. Could be a computer programing term. I belong to a bunch of forums and they all use both terms.

SOS=Ships of Scale.
I'm in Coconut Creek just north of Fort Lauderdale and also from Wisconsin many moons ago.
Dust made me change to plastic. Plastic these days is not the same as 30-40 years ago.
Welcome aboard, Enjoy
