I am Allan Russell (Russboats).

I am familiar with building model boats from scratch, having designed the plans on the Delftship Pr, ship design software. I have also built full-size timber kayaks from Hoop Pine 1.5 and 2.00mm marine ply, as well as two diesel engine fishing boats of 17ft and 19ft, both glued lapstrake construction. My life has virtually always been around boats, 25 years in the Royal Australian Navy, and up until retirement, Marine Engineer 1st Class, on passenger vessels.

What are you planning for as a scale model? Are you going to scratch build given you already have runs on the large scale board or were you thinking more of an easier start with a kit?

Either way will be happy to see your progress.
