Long gun breech ropes

Hi all,
I noticed on the original Halcon 1840 Baltimore Clipper plans, that the breech ropes seem to be fixed to the deck, rather then the bulwark.
Was that a thing? In all illustrations I seem to find the second option only.

The ring bolts for the breech rope must be secured to a frame or possibly a deck beam if they were in fact secured to the deck. With the spacing of the deck beams that could be difficult if the spacing of the gun ports is not in synch with the spacing of the deck beams. With no contemporary information available it is a guess, but I suspect the ring bolts would be secured to frames, not deck beams. Looking at photos of the replica there appears to be no spirketting so finding a frame to secure the ring bolts is easy.

Hi Frank,
thanks for the images, the skewed setup was new to me.
However, the general setup is clear, in this case it was really about if breech ropes were ever attached to ring bolts in the deck or not, like in the first low quality picture I posted.

In general I have some good sources as well.
