Thank you for inviting me to join your forum. I've been a scratch RC sailboat builder for years, so this will be my first foray into static model building.

That being said, my current project objective is to build a detailed square-sail ship, and modify it so it's seaworthy.

No easy task as my research suggests that static models lack the interior structures typically required to support radio systems.

My current plan is to focus my next build on the Amerigo Vespucci in 1:84 scale. Of course the 'build' threads on this site will be invaluable.

I intend to document this build, so your input to the thread will be greatly appreciated.

And so it begins.... just placed an order for this ship. ETA some time in May. In the interim, I'll be doing some research into power systems and what I'll need to modify to accommodate the RC gear.

Just arrived!!!! I plan to start the build in a week or two.

The plan is to make this one a runner. I'll post progress in a separate build thread.

As there already are some excellent build threads, I'll focus my postings on the alterations required to support the RC gear.

Welcome to the forum, eh. My Canadian isn't very good, eh, but I am happy to see you here, eh. The RC sailboat looks awesome, eh, so I look forward to more of your work.
