These kits are no longer for sale.

If you want these get them before I remove them on 4/14/25 along with all the other kits I have for sale.

Received the Santa Maria and slipway this week from Denis at Pavel's site. Waited about 2.5 months for the kit. These good people are in a war.
$425+ shipping PayPal friends and family, US only please.

Santa Maria, slipway. Paint set goes with San Bart.

Hi Kurt. I didn't just buy the San Bartolomeo. I bought it some time in 2022 I think. I think it is kit #8?? maybe #12? Don't remember for sure. It is boxed up for shipment, so I can't get to the box to see. I contacted Denis at Pavel's and he sent me the new instructions and the 7 large detail sheets that wasn't included in the kit. There were also a few rigging pieces missing. And I bought a paint set. I received these when I just received the Santa Maria. The kit was never started it sat on the self.

On the other hand I just received the Santa Maria and its slipway. And the paint set.

The reason I am selling these kits and a couple others on the For Sale page is.... I might have mentioned before.... My wife of 53 years died Christmas 2023 and I have lost my desire to model. I tried to restart modeling, but just not intrested.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...
I SOLD BOTH KITS YESTERDAY. I have made it clear to everyone that I use PayPal Friend and Family. I took the two kits to the UPS store yesterday and had the store pack them for me. I didn't ask the member for the packaging costs nor did I charge him the full shipping costs. We had been conversing for a couple months on private email as he saw my earlier post that I might sell both when the Santa Maria arrived. We had agreed on a price. The price was $975 for both + shipping Friends and Family (AND STILL IS FOR ANYONE WANTING BOTH). Since I trusted the person I went ahead and shipped the two kits while at that UPS store and sent him the amount he owed.

I came back home from the UPS store. He sent me the money as BUSINESS NOT FRIENDS AND FAMILY. This is the third time a member sent Business rathe than what I had asked for. When. I received the money as business it becomes a taxable event for me. This meant I would have to pay about $220 taxs on the moneY he sent. So... This being the third time and taxes were quite a bit I refused the money on PayPal and sent it back to him. I was pretty angry with this person. If he was concerned that I was honest all he had to do was look here and see I had sold several models and no one had claimed I was a crook. Plus I have even given away a few models to beginner modelers on SOS.

I thought about it for a couple hours. I went back to the UPS store, cancelled the shipment and bought my two model home. They are packaged and ready for shipment.

SO... THIS IS HOW IT WILL WORK FOR MY SALES.... You send me the money by PayPal Friends and Family. After I receive the money, I will ship the kit the same. day. I WILL NOT SHIP A KIT BEFORE PAYMENT. If you don't like these terms then please don't discuss purchase with me. Thank you.

Totally agree with your decision. In addition to taxation issues, if person sends PayPal money as BUSINESS there was also an additional fee of around 4% which receiver is paying from money they receive.

I feel your pain in loss of guidance to work on kits!

I at times have a hard time going into my shop and getting work done, often just sit and piddle getting nothing done.

If I were closer to you (I am in Oklahoma) I would come and see what you want to sell from your shop in way of tools and equipment.

I am sure that possibly there is a modeling group in Florida that could come take what you don't want.

IMHO a model ship purchase should NEVER be a time pressure purchase. I don't care how fine the woods are.
