Hello all... so impressed with your forum thus my joining you to get some more advise. I used to build ship models for fun many decades ago! Now, however at my age I decided to return and build some more. Just found you ( Ship of Scale)... after ordering from Occre a ship model of the "HMS Endeavor". Been reading lots of James Cooks adventures...was so enamored of his expolits thus wanting to honor him... Am now starting to do the hull plankings... Wish me luck.. may finish her in 3-6 months!

Welcome to the forum, please start a build log so we can all watch your work together.

This is the best place to get help and advice when needed. Just post questions and photos if needed to explain and those here will often give you just the answer you need.

By the way.. there are quite a few items missing from OcCre parts. There's no Tiller (95mm-Long) for the mothership but there is a tiny tiller for the row/Lifeboat. So have to fabricate one from scrap wood. Also there is no free passage for the rudder stock to exit on deck, it's blocked! Have to drill somethng like 4x4mm opening of the stock in order to meet the tiller. Not a problem but wish OcCre was a bit more attetive by now-2025.

Correct...but when I wanted to get the HMS Endeavor direct from Occre they were about to add $65 shipping to the USA, while Amazon had one kit left and no shipping charge.... ordered from Amazon. It would also take a whole month for Occre to ship to my address. Decided to fabricate these missing parts and corrections from the 1:1 scale drawings. Thank you for the suggestion.

Welcome...
I build the model many years ago and as I live up the road from the maritime museum of Australia in Sydney (the home port of the Endeavour replica) I bought this book Anatomy of the ship: Captain Cook's Endeavour. I think if you got this you could safely add another 6 months to your build if you want to improve the accuracy of your model. (As you can see I have not got the vaccum out for a while (Refer to this post https://shipsofscale.com/sosforums/threads/dust-on-completed-models.16923/page-2#post-443661 ...the only downside to ship models)
