The top and center photos show, I believe four items marked P. These are deadeyes per the chart.
If I interpret the plans correctly their are two deadeyes at the lower edge of the boom and two deadeyes at the bottom. Center. Is this a correct reading of the plans? I could use another set of eyes.
BTW none of these deadeyes show up on the rigging chartsIMG20250519165605.jpg

Perhaps if you identify the kit you are working on, somebody who's familiar with it may be able to help you. I don't even recognize any of the spars depicted in the plans as a "boom" at all, although I realize that's probably not helpful, either. The fittings in the upper two drawings appear to show two hearts lashed around a spar of some sort with two deadeyes beneath and opposite the hearts sharing the same lashing with the hearts and, to either side of the hearts on the side of the spar, another two deadeyes also attached to the same lashing as the hearts, assuming all three "P's" are deadeyes. Unfortunately, the drawing are apparently rather crude and don't seem to follow conventional orthographic drafting rules. They look more like something somebody would sketch out on a cocktail napkin after they'd had a few! If you can identify what is connected to the hearts and deadeyes, where that connection goes, and what it's supposed to do, you may be able to confirm that they are deadeyes and where they go.

Well you came.out with the same count I did.
The kit is the HMS Jalouse by Caldercraft.
You are correct is calling the plans cartoonist. Most top and side views are not in the same scale.

It's obviously a bow sprit with the hearts above for the stays to connect to and the dead eyes at the side and underneath for the rest of the bowsprit rigging,

The strange part is that the plans show no rigging below the bowsprit including the dolphin striker.

From Lees' Masting and Rigging English Ships of War, from 1773 to 1840 open hearts were used for the fore stay and fore preventer stay. They were independently lashed to the sprit.

As of 14 May 1800 and until 1850 when chain came into use, there were 3 bobstays, the outer, middle and inner bobstays rather than 2. There was either a deadeye or heart for these. The shrouds on the sides of the sprit also had their own individual collars with either a deadeye or heart. Each shroud and bobstay had their own collar rather than multiple deadeyes or hearts on one collar.

The multiple deadeyes on one collar may be what was intended here. I knew the message was from Allan without even looking due the the arcane information provided and it's incisiveness.
Thanks
BTW do you have an example of multiple deadeyes being used

Hi Ted,
There are a number of drawings and descriptions in Lees Masting and Rigging. My apologies, but I think it is too much to copy here being copyrighted material.

Arghhh, the kit lists part 202 Barrel of the pump, as 3mm. No 3mm dowels were included in the kit so I used some from stock.
I made the part and found it was not wide enough. Going back to the parts list I discovered both 3mm and 4mm dowels have part number 202.
I made a second pump barrel in 4mm from stock. As you can see it, too is too small.
I caused this problem by not measuring the top of the pump beforehand.

Thanks
Glad you persevered. :)

I’m sure that the kit manufacturer did not research archeological information to figure out the exact bilge pump diameter. In building a model like this don’t hesitate to use your mark 1 eyeball. If it looks right, it probably is right.
