Hi Chaps,
For my Next project im considering either the Occre Endurance or Artisania Latina Sanson Tug. At different ends of the spectrum I know, but they both have atracted me (I love anything steam, and shackletons story i find so interesting). Can anybody offer any advice as to quality, difficulty, or just plain are they any good?

Thanks

The choice is yours. But we are eagerly waiting for the production diary.

Watching and listening because this is my next build after I finish the current one.

Can anyone recomend good books on the Endurance please?
Are you looking for books on building the model or historical writings about Shackleton and the voyages? There are writings by Shackleton including South: The Story of Shackleton's Last Expedition 1914-1917 and The Heart of the Antarctic, but they are about his explorations and his crew. There are other books including Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing.

The only advice that I can offer is to look for build logs from folks who have built or are working on your chosen model(s). You'll find out about those folks experiences about the models by viewing their threads.

Im looking for books about the ship itself, so i can make ajustments to tthe kit.

Not a book, but there are photos and blue prints at RMG of Polaris 1912, renamed Endurance (from Fortitudine Vincimus, by Shackleton) in 1914. Three examples are below that came up with a quick search on Google. You can compare these with the kit plans and if there are mistakes this may be helpful in correcting them. There are likely additional plans in the RMG Collections and/or Norsk Maritimt Museum archives, so if you think they might be helpful they may be able to help you acquire them.
