After 15 years, I am finally getting started on making my own wooden ship models. I grew up seeing the kits that my grandpa had made during his retirement, and I fell in love with them. I finally have the time and money to try making a few of my own. I'm starting off with Mamoli's Black Prince to learn planking and rigging. Once I know what I'm doing and feeling confident in my abilities, I'll start OcCre's Terror. Hopefully, the skills I learned from plastic models and general woodworking will help with the new hobby. I've spent the last month or so reading through build logs on here while acquiring tools and the kits. Everyone here seems very friendly and helpful!
