Thank you very much!Hi Dean,
Impressive collection and very well rendered.
Cheers,
Stephen.
I do have a P-39 in the box waiting, and it’s a very nice kit with full cockpit detail.Missing a P-39 Aircobra (although I saw you had one in a box) and a P-61 Black Widow.
Although the widow might be a bit large for your shelf.
Thank you very much!Very impressive and good job. I myself in the 1/72 scale, builder airplane, sub, and ships.
The lozenge was a decal provided in the Eduard kit. However each blue stripe was a separate decal…sigh! Tedious work for sure!Hi Dean,
Just wondering if the lozenge camouflage was painted or a decal?
Cheers,
Stephen.
Thank you sir!Wow. Awesome collection!
Of which my favourites will be the SE5a and the Albatros DII. Please let us know how your WWI collection is coming along. I am awaiting the delivery of a little Hanover. All the best with the rigging!I’m excited to say I just ordered more WW1 aircraft model kits to add to my collection.
Sopwith Camel F1
Pfalz D IIIa
SE5a RAF
Albatros D II
So it seems I will be very busy in the future adding to my WW1 collection, as I already have 4 kits waiting to be built prior to this addition. So I now have 8 kits to be built and 6 on shelves. That should expand my WW1 collection nicely!![]()
Thank you, I have been using the fine EZline for the rigging and it works very well. Still tedious work.Of which my favourites will be the SE5a and the Albatros DII. Maybe for WWI An SE5a? or a Fokker D.VIII or an E.IIII just wanted to say thanks to everyone who commented thus far for your generous compliments and for all the likes. It’s encouraging to know that others share my interest and passion for aircraft. I hadn’t imagined I would get well over 200 people reading and looking at this post in a weeks time!
I also wanted to mention that although the majority of my aircraft are plastic models I built, there are a handful that are diecast models. It’s rare I opt for a diecast model, but if I do, I inevitably modify it with extra detailing.
An example would be my P-38 Lightning “Marge”, that I could not find a plastic model of in 1/72 scale. But I felt I needed one due to the historical significance of this aircraft flown by the leading ace in WW2. When I found out they made a diecast model of it in 1/72 scale, I had to add it to my collection.
Here she is…

I added a wash on some of the panel lines and did a wash and dry brushing on the exhaust turbos, corrected the color of the machine guns, etc.
So although I prefer plastic models for detail, on occasion I will add a diecast model. I probably have about 4 or 5 diecast aircraft in my collection of over 50. So the diecast models represent a very small percentage, but they do fit in nicely.
Next I am trying to decide which WW1 aircraft I want to build.
I have all of those in boxes…so definitely a possibility.Maybe for WWI An SE5a? or a Fokker D.VIII or an E.III
