It was a wee bit warm outside yesterday, the temperature maxed out at 92F and with high humidity it felt like 114F, at odd times small Thunder storm cells moved through our area. There were reports of possible Tornados in the upper counties. It was a very good day to sit in the shipyard and work on the kit.
The current progress.
I had to do quite a bit of fiddly work. The cabin sides were a bit of a problem, the Starboard side was shorter than the Port side on the bottom. Once I matched the bottoms of the cabin sides to the hull contour I added the little brace on the Starboard side to level the cabin roof. I added small 1/4 X 1/4 inch blocks to the bow ends of the cabin sides instead of the kit supplied cross piece.
I've added the framing details to the cabin edges as well as the interior of the cockpit. Next up is priming, slight sanding and repeat to get the boat to the final paint stage.

(A side note. I build this kit eight years ago without to much trouble. The current kit seems to be a hybrid in transition, some items have been updated, some parts just don't fit and the instructions have been edited from the old to the new some omission of how todoa step.
An example:
The cabin roof rafters,
The older kit instructions show the roof rafters fitting into notches.
The new kit:
The build instructions indicate to insert the "rafters" in the notches in the upper cabin sides .
BUT there are no notches in upper cabin sides of the current kit, the port side the top of the interior window frame was a bot of a problem, it took some tongue in check cutting and filing to get around this little quirk.)
