French 3-deck 110-gun ship Dauphine Royal (1752)

Hello, I have some doubts about the proportions. In my opinion, these sculptures are disproportionate in terms of scale, and not only that, but also the hunting cannons (at the bow)—how can they fire with all that equipment in front of them? Could you give me some information? Frank

Hello Frank! Yes, you are right, the points you have mentioned raise questions. I would like to remind you that my reconstruction is an attempt to create a copy of the model from the museum in Rochefort. I have attached a photo of the original for comparison. I cannot give an exact explanation. Perhaps some of the decor was removed during shooting. Regarding the massiveness of the figures, I would like to remind you that the real ship was not built. Perhaps the builders of the model enlarged the figures for greater impression.

Hi! You can compare it with the model stored in the National Maritime Museum.

Great job, compatriot! Lots of work. And I wanted to clarify a little for the future: the boards are nailed at the ends, and not just to the frames in the middle section, as I indicated in the photo. But otherwise I like it!
