Hey all, looking for clarification on the rigging of the topmast shrouds for the build. This will be my first attempt at this model and having a great time with it. Th instructions indicate 6 18" lengths which makes more too many shrouds for the fighting top/top mast.
I am sure there is a thread on this somewhere. Please advise.

Cheers

I'm wondering if that's a typo at the bottom of page 70 indicating the number of shroud lines to prepare.
It looks like there are ten deadeyes, so that should only require five shroud lines.
I tried reading further ahead, but didn't notice any reference to using the sixth shroud line.

I'm building the same kit, but I'm barely started on the hull. However I've noticed a number of errors in the instructions or details left out. They even show special tools being used that weren't on the list in the front of the first manual.

I believe there are only 5 topmast shrouds. I would cut them a few inches longer to make sure you have enough length. There are many errors in the instructions mostly dealing with how thick or long some piece is. Pat a word of caution, when assembling the side walls of the gun deck make very sure of which side goes where, the pieces are asymmetric and poorly marked. I got into a big jam placing the wrong pieces on the wrong side.

I have a build log of my progress and in the beginning I mentioned 2 other build logs that have been invaluable to me.

After I posted this, I found another build log on Model Ship World which addressed several issues that I have had. Tom has great suggestions and some clarification regarding the instructions for this kit.
Thanks Pat and Rob for getting back to me!

Yes Tom Culbs build log is one of the two I mention in my build log. His work and knowledge has been invaluable in helping me construct my cross section. Mike and Pat you should both consider your own build logs. I find them very helpful!
