My next build will be the SS Endurance. Its story is just as disastrous as the ship that went after it, the YS Aurora. Both ships are part of the whole adventure. But I cannot find a kit that resembles the Aurora.

Is there a YS Aurora kit other than by OcCre?

The above plans (top) by OcCre are a sham. Besides having a missing mast, the OcCre profile is out of whack with the original plans (bottom).

I was hoping to extend the OcCre plan to add another mast, but the profile is all wrong.
I suppose the only way to get around it is to scratchbuild it without any good plans to do so. Would this be true?

As SY Aurora was a 580-ton barque-rigged steam yacht have you searched for any barque kits? The Coast Guard ship Eagle is a 300 foot bark so maybe a kit of her could work for you with heavy modifications.

I feel confident about scratching the SY Aurora if I had some longitudinal profile and half-breadth profile drawings to make templates from. I would then embark on shaping a solid sandwich hull. If I could master that, I am sure I can build the rest from the plans I have and photos of the ship.
