Thanks for your understanding and support Dean.Happy 4th Daniel! I understand lack of enthusiasm, as my best work is done when I’m itching to make progress on something.
I bounce around from ships to aircraft to music to art. So I go where my mood takes me. If I force something, I am never happy with the results. I envy people who can stay focused and motivated on a multi year project.
Thank you, Heinrich. I really enjoy your postings and oversight when time allows for it in your schedule. That is beautiful deck planking Daniel. Your rationale makes perfect sense to me.
Thank you Jeff, is the weather hot and nasty in Florida like it is here in Texas?Your decision is certainly providing the right results of work ! it looks great !
Thank you Grant. A little off topic here, I know soccer is one of your favorite sports and I know very little about it except that the refs have too much influence with this red card business! Ha, am I holding sour grapes or what?Good morning Daniel- Happy 4th of July. Yep I really like what you are doing with your Xebec. Kudos. Cheers Grant
A inventive approach of this deck, Daniel. It’s looking very promising to get a nice result.Well, I have just a little update to post. It's been 6 weeks since my last update and I must admit if the desire to work on my ship has waned it's better for me to wait until the mood returns lest I get impatient and start taking short cuts. I finally came to the conclusion it's far better to separate the gun deck decking planks and install one at a time just like I did the main deck. The short strips between the grating I'm sure will be difficult to get placed correctly and maintain the flow but that is the method I settled on. So here is the beginning look and so far, so good.

Here you can see how the strips are coming off on the starboard side and the wall Ill hit when I get to the grating area.

Hope this is helpful to future Zebec builders and thanks to all who stopped by for a visit.
To our American builders have a safe and fun 4th of July celebration!
Hi Peter thank you for your reply. I've just realized I'm way behind on your Balder log; I'll be heading over shortly to catch up.A inventive approach of this deck, Daniel. It’s looking very promising to get a nice result.
Regards, Peter
Thank you for your kind response, John. To me this ship is loaded with slips, trips, and falls metaphorically speaking. Your observations are encouragement for me though.Daniel,
Such a great log ---ok "back to the deck"Your planking and treenail are SO perfect - AND not having to do just a few - Big thmbs
Cheers,
Yes !Thank you Jeff, is the weather hot and nasty in Florida like it is here in Texas?
Good evening Daniel. Ahhhh it was a very mean red card for Bolagun. I think the ref’s give their best and they are under so much scrutiny and pressure especially at the World Cup so mistakes are made. If I was a USA supporter I would be a little grumpy tooThank you Grant. A little off topic here, I know soccer is one of your favorite sports and I know very little about it except that the refs have too much influence with this red card business! Ha, am I holding sour grapes or what?
Maybe you should consider ordering out.Daniel, Grant
Yikes -- I have not seen my Brazilian Admiral for the last two weeks - she is just staring at the TV and shouting
Tomorrow's game is with Brazil --- NOT hoping for a TV dinner.
I remember in 1998 when France won the World Cup against Brazil --(I was born in France )- not that I really cared, but she is still calling
it a fake win. Hmmm where did that phrase come from????
Grew up with the Dodgers....But she's having fun - love it.... PS; Yes that foul call is causing some controversy....
Regards,
