Hello and welcome to the forum, from NY
Thank You Sir!!!

It's going to be a fun Project, my wife asked me, "how long will it take to build" my response was, I don't know! Like when I build in plastic, you work on the model when you feel like working on it. You get into the task at hand, then get to a stopping point, let things DRY! Then you begin again..., may take a w h i l e, but it will be fun!!!!

Thanks Again
Lou

Thank You!!!!

I see allot of NAVY Folks, on this forum!!!! Corpus Christi Texas has NAS Corpus Christi & just a little South of us, NAS Kingsville..., Big NAVY area!!!!

Thanks Again
Lou
If you are referring to the navy ratings in peoples profiles, it is just something fun that the forums do based on a score which is mostly based on the number of posts you make. :)

Hello Hawser, welcome to the SOS group. As a fellow tug enthusiast I thought I would send you a couple of photos of my past creations. The first is the Baltimore City Fire Tug JohnR. Frazier. She has fully operational fire monitors, bow thruster, lighting system, and diesel engine sound module. The second photo is the Dumas tug Brooklyn which I converted over for salvage operations. Good luck with your project.

Jim

Wow!!! These are VERY NICE!! I've been looking at some other TUGS folks have built, and the amount of detail is awesome. The TUG, I'm embarking on, is large and will beckon for lots of detail, as it should, being 4' in length. So, great inspiration from fellow TUG Fans like you is definitely appreciated!!!!!

Thanks
Lou

Like many others out there, I'm a HUGE fan of Tugboats! I live in South Texas, we have a Busy Port, and needless to say, I get to see Tugboats at work! I really like the Conventional Tugs, their lines are Awesome, and when underway, that Bow Wave just parts the water, water builds up at the Bow, then sort-of falls back low along the side, then up again at the Stern! Neat to see!

Yep, my first project will be a Tugboat, and I'm gearing up for this endeavor, a 48" RC Tug. I found the plans online, its been around awhile, and there isn't much in the instructions as to building methods, or any "how to" details. So I'm gathering information, reading allot of material, and re-reading what the instructions are describing, and I'm getting it!

My first build will be the "Lazy Alan", a neat looking Tugboat, that has been represented in Plastic, many years ago! I'm sure some of you have seen it, was put out by Revell, and to this day, you can still find this little model, in 1/96 scale. I have one of these built up, in our display case, and bought another, recently, as a "go by" for details. I come from the Plastic world of modeling, been doing this since I was a kid, still enjoy the hobby, but now it's time to join the BIG Leagues!

Looking at the Plans, and comparing them to the small model, there's some changes I want to make, especially the hull, and some the super structure details, but I'm still studying the plans, and other reference material. I've attached the photo so you can see what the end result, I hope, will look like!

I'll be asking You Experts questions, and hope to begin this build next month..., I'm also building a workbench, Ship Yard, if you will!

Glad to be HERE!!!!
Lou
