AKERBOOM 1681 after Ab Hoving nominally 1/66 but drawings in 1/64

Hello friends,

today I layed my hand onto the AKERBOOM's planset to undust the project.

I was able to draw a plenty of very important lines into the printout. I do think.thetr are some difgerences between the AKERBOOM and GIDEON hull in particular the number of the clinkered planking and placing (and number)of the gunports:IMG-20260120-WA0006.jpeg

So I voted for two 2mm pices of bookbinders' cardboard - so the slots become 4mm.

This years is for slow but steady progress,

thanks to all of you.

@Ab Hoving

Hello all together!

As I was able during the last months to move a plenty of stuff from my small flat ''downunder'' in to the cellar. By this awfull action I got the space I need to glue the hulls of the models together and store them in my flat. I needed before allways the possibility to undo the hull Putting her back into her 2D-sphere for room-saving reasons. This had had to be done with all projects being build in my flat of more than 50cm/20" in length - so my "big fat Dutch ladies", too.

So today's evening I will blow the dust from AKERBOOM/GIDEON to make some progress onto the hull.

Best wishes from Berlin Card Yard,
Chris

Seperating AKERBOOM and GIDEON

GIDEON with the old testamenterial warrior:

Why this doubling work? To try the possibilities in the bigger scale and if the details do also rise by 150%?

Next step enlarging from 1/66 with a Lpp 600mms up to 1/44 by using 150% on the drawings so the Lpp will be 900,45mms long.
So I can build a smaller AKERBOOM 1664 and the bigger GIDEON 1664 side by side.

Have a nice evening - and I do know my Meistersinger von Nürnberg by Wagner:

"Delusion! Delusion! Everywhere delusion!" Hans Sachs (Nurnburgian poet and shoemaker)

I'm surprised by your ambitions.
In my experience it is most convenient to pick a scale for all ships to build. Soluitions found for one, are applicable for all.
Good luck.
Yes you are absolutely rigt, dear Ab! And with the smaller prototyes in the bigger scale of 1/44 I cannot leave the big ladies behind in 1/66 - this wouldn't make any Sense.
