I am busy with the cathead and I am convinced the kit design is wrong. They are underlaid catheads which is correct, however I am sure the tails won’t end by attaching to the bowsprit step?
Goodwin example has the cathead tails finishing under and being bolted to the deck beams.
Here is how CAF has mine going :

On the Kingfisher it did go under two beams but came nowhere near the sprit step. FYI I made mine in two pieces and hid the join under a beam.

Good morning Paul. I had a look at your Kingfisher again and this definitely makes more sense. I cannot see any cathead putting so much foreward pressure onto a bowsprit step or other. I will attempt to do what you did. Thank you.

Good morning. I have found the answer to my Cathead concern. Here is a pic of how these go on the HMS Enterprise 1774. My big issue (like so many things with this kit) is the deck beam placement. I only have one beam vs 2 and I cannot notch the cathead tail to this as the angle of the cathead to the hull would reduce to much…..hmm

Hello Grant, do you have a publishing date of the drawing? It shows some modifications (green) to the inboard design (red)

I believe that is ZAZ3387. It should be on the bottom left of the full plan. ZAZ3387 is not dated specifically on the RMG site, but it does give circa 1771-1778. There is also ZAZ 3390 dated 1787 but has very little detail. Lacking better information ZAZ3387 seems to be a reliable source IMHO.

Good afternoon John. I was not at the stadium unfortunately. The game was as awesome as the fly over. There was plenty of controversy about that fly over although it certainly energised the crowd.
True story John. I was surprised this bit of excitement in Cape Town went international. You would certainly know the risks associated with this low fly over, but for the layman rugby fan they loved it
