Thank you for that last photo, mustafa. Now I'm 100% sure I know how to rig those braces, when I finally get to them.

Maybe you could clarify one more small thing for me? There are no truss pendants on the mizzen mast cap, correct? When dry fitting the mizzen top mast to the mizzen, I saw that there was absolutely no clearance between the two eye bolts, that I (mistakenly?) added to the bottom of the mast cap, and the mizzen itself.

Hi Peter, if you take a look at Post #991 in this build log, I think you’ll find all the details you’re looking for regarding the mizzen mast.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please let me know.
 
All righty then, the eye bolts stay.

I checked my plans, the part that came laser cut from the kit, and double checked all the dimensions. I'm spot on.

I just don't have the material you seem to have in the pictures in that post. I imagine I'll have to make do... I'm glad I took a little break and did not pull the eye bolts out.

You can still hang the blocks to those eyebolts by adding hooks.
Even though I forgot to add them myself,
these blocks should have hooks on them anyway.
 
I had postponed the installation of the topmast backstays and the topgallant backstays for quite some time, as I wanted to keep the deck area easily accessible. However, it has now become necessary to rig them, since the braces for the upper yards cannot be properly set until the topmasts and topgallant masts are made sufficiently rigid.

I will upload the relevant photos tomorrow.

As I'm about to begin rigging the main mast, following your lead on page 44 post #875, I was about to install the pendants. In my research on the subsequent rigging of the shrouds, I've learned that nothing actually attaches to the pendants. They are used temporarily during the rigging of other things on the ship, but are just left hanging - more or less on used afterwards. I suppose I could ignore these, but I just assembled my Serv-o-matic from Syren and thought I'd at least try doing some seizing in the areas where the pendants are wrapped around the mast. So this is not a useless exercise. However, I must ask, do you plan to rig anything to the end of the pendants later? If so, what?

No, Peter, I won’t be attaching anything to the pendants, but they are an essential part of any ship. They are used to lift and move heavy loads from the deck to the shore, from the shore back to the deck, or from one part of the deck to another. When needed, a block and tackle can be hung from a pendant, allowing heavy loads to be hoisted and carried. I think you should add them to your model as well.
 
The good news is, I've gotten some practice using the serv-o-matic, and these don't require a lot of accuracy. So, Mustafa, you are correct. I will be installing these.

The exercise had an additional benefit, I realized I have almost no black rope in that diameter. Good news for Ropes of Scale, bad news for me.
