so far nyc isnt getting much of a big storm, although its still early (9:02 am)
im just seeing a regular light rain and not much wind.
yesterday and the day before we had some crazy wind about 30-40mph.
the red sky yesterday evening and last night were spectacular.

whats it like by you?

btw here is a wave panel of the long island sound...

not a good kayaking day.

rain has just started pouring.

ps...
i just got back from the beach... 11:40am, the entire parking lot has 2' of water, and im sure deeper in some spots. there is a nypd solar light truck stationed out there with water over its wheels.

but rain n wind has been very light so far.

Some coastal flooding, roads that are near the normal high tide level in elevation are underwater in places. Results of the fairly heavy storm that passed through two days ago plus tidal flooding / surges. This is on Gwynn's Island, Virginia. The island is almost flat, the drainage ditches don't flow much until low tide and with the winds piling water up onto the coastline they will not drain much for another day or two. We're currently seeing some strong winds but the forecast is for only a quarter inch of rain through Sunday night.
 
I'm sure I saw something about someone saying that climate change is a myth, and we should all burn more fossil fuel.

Hi Rob,
I graduated from Kings Point and one of my roommates and shipboard buddies during sea year lives in Lynbrook where we visited quite often. Have some in-laws that had a summer house out on the North Fork as well. I do not miss driving the L.I.E.!!!!!!!

traffic has gotten worse. i never take the LIE. but i also travel during the gray hours since retiring 20 years ago.

i also own n paid for the whitestone brg. the mortgage went from 10¢ to a quarter now $15 round trip. im trying to sell it but cant get any takers. anyone want a nice bridge?... ive got a few for sale.

I was actually more interested in the Throgs Neck bridge. I already have some been sold parts of the Brooklyn bridge (got it at a discount! :oops:).
