Fabulous models,thanks for posting Zolly.
Brian is quite correct,model ship building in Russia is virtually an Olympic sport and has a massive following.Masters like Dr Mike,Alexey Baranov and Dimitry Shevelev are viewed in the same light as say David Beckham was in my country.
I find the whole thing a little disappointing in that my country was at the forefront of model making in the 17th and 18th century.The story goes that a model of Royal Sovereign was gifted to Peter the Great by Charles II.Peter the Great's response was to ask 'why can't we make such great models in Russia?'.Well how things have changed,Russia is at the forefront whilst interest in England has dwindled astronomically.

Very interesting from my point of view, especially because of the choice of timber and the color-schema, is this two-decker Roebuck (here we can read the name at the stern)

I guess this is the Roebuck-class 44-gun frigate built between 1770 and 1784


Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines, and longitudinal half-breadth proposed (and approved) for Janus (1778), and later used for Charon (1778) and Dolphin (1781), all 44-gun Fifth Rate, two-deckers. These three ships were proposed with two tiers of windows, unlike some of the others in the class. However, the 'as built' plan for Charon shows her with only a single row of windows (see ZAZ2114). Signed by John Williams [Surveyor of the Navy, 1765-1784]

Here is more. How I wish this had an English closed capture. This video is more detailed and has some communications with participants. One of the interviewed gentlemen is Alexandr Lezhnev (Administrator for karopka.ru). Well...it is still worth to see.

Thanks for sharing. I'm scratch building roebuck from plans to me by the National Maritime Museum, back in the 1980s. Pictures of the stern and bow are very helpful!!!!
