HMS Thorn. Scratch build Swan class following the books written by David Antscherl and Greg Herbert

I've been watching your work for a while. The videos illustrate the process of making the models very well. Today I just have to say to myself that I can learn a lot from this and thank you for sharing it with us.
 
Finally back at work on the Thorn. Not sure what happened but i just could not get going again. I have started cleaning up the gun ports and found a few of errors i made which i have now corrected. Also remade the tiller as the one i made vanished. I have made a jig using three dimensioned blocks of wood which i use to check the size and accuracy of the gun ports . I have found this very useful. It also confirms that the sides of the port is at 90Degrees to the keel.

Hi, do you have a simple explanation of how to change knives on the DH40.
I can see that you have such a machine in the background of one of your videos.
I have searched around on youtube, but no more detailed video on how to do this.

The short answer is no. I did a video on changing the blades on the planer and in the process ordered new blades for the DN40 which I recently serviced. I promise to do a video on the installation of the blades when they arrive. When i took the planer apart it looks relatively simple however setting of the correct height of the blade will need some explanation from Proxxon. It certainly cannot be set using the same technique as i used on the planer. I am still not happy with the finished height on the planer which i reset last week. Its much too aggressive which means that the height of the blade is too high. I have tried to lower it unsuccessful. I sent the video to Proxxon and hope to get a reply on how to set the height correctly. In case you did not see the video here it is.
