    Hancock

Given the rising cost of both high quality POB and POF models, I would expect a cost of around $1,000 or more to be reasonable. I built the Oneida from Lumberyard years ago and a similar kit for Hancock would be great.

HMS GRANADO - full hull - POF kit by CAF in 1:48 - by Uwe

I was wondering the same thing. With the supports for the mortars and storage for the shells taking up so much room below deck there does not seem to be any space left for the crew to eat or sleep, let alone for all the other items mentioned in Signet's post.

Round Table class Minesweeping Trawler 1942/45 Scale 1:48 Built from the Calder Craft kit Sir Kay.

Did you use the original guns from the kit, make your own or found other suppliers?

    Chinese POF kits

Judging by what you’ve done on Granado you should have no trouble with most Chinese kits. CAF seems to have a lot of positive reviews, especially their later offerings. I’m considering their Granado full hull. However, the quality of instructions with Chinese kits may not be as thorough and...

    Canadian Sternwheeler Completed

This is a western Canadian sternwheeler from 1903. The kit is from Interaction Hobbies. It came with wiring and LED lights. The kit is very well designed and executed. Everything fits with very little sanding or correcting. The instruction booklets (2) are excellent. The only criticisms I have...

HMS Enterprize 1774 1:96 von Modelship Dockyard

How are the instructions? Are they in English and are they clear?

    Ideas for a ship base?

I’ve never done this, but what about taking a piece of glass with ripples (there seem to be different kinds you can buy) cutting it to size, cut a hole for the wires and painting it. Since it’s for a riverboat you wouldn’t have big waves. Has anyone done this? By the way, I took a break from my...

    INTER-ACTION HOBBIES' PADDLE STEAMER C.R. LAMB 1:48

Carl, it looks like you added a whole lot of piping to the engine room (like the piping going from the boiler to the engines) that are not in the instructions, as well as what look like engine controls, storage boxes, etc. Where did you get those designs from, especially the additional...

    INTER-ACTION HOBBIES' PADDLE STEAMER C.R. LAMB 1:48

Thanks. I’ll just put some Cherry Danish Oil on to bring out the grain.

    INTER-ACTION HOBBIES' PADDLE STEAMER C.R. LAMB 1:48

Carl, it looks like you left the inside walls of the engine room unpainted. Is that correct? Did you stain them at all?

    INTER-ACTION HOBBIES' PADDLE STEAMER C.R. LAMB 1:48

Looks great. You’re moving fast. What about the wiring? Does that get added later?

    INTER-ACTION HOBBIES' PADDLE STEAMER C.R. LAMB 1:48

Thanks for offering the simplified instructions for wiring. Are those separate from the ones that come with the kit? What do you mean by “dry-brushing“ the white paint. My kit is supposed to arrive July 19. Just putting the finishing touches on my HMS Sphinx.

    INTER-ACTION HOBBIES' PADDLE STEAMER C.R. LAMB 1:48

I just ordered the model. I’ll be following your build. Don’t think I’ll do weathering though. Never did much before on models and don’t want to screw it up.

C.R. Lamb: Sternwheeler kit from Inter-Action Hobbies

Thanks for the info. Wiring looks quite doable. But, you may need to do some wire cutting and soldering. I was able to do that on my Bounty and I had no instructions and no previous experience soldering.

C.R. Lamb: Sternwheeler kit from Inter-Action Hobbies

looks very cool. I am tempted to make it my next project, but I’ll wait to see your progress. What is the power source for the LED lights?

C.R. Lamb: Sternwheeler kit from Inter-Action Hobbies

The instruction booklet says 1/48 scale. Is it 1/48 or 1/87?

Kit review French bomb vessel 'La Salamandre' (1758), Scale 1:96 by Miniature Arts

On the one hand it’s small enough that I can find room for it (a major consideration in my house). On the other hand, can I manipulate parts that are so small? And I sure would like good English instructions. Do you think they’ll improve them?

really dont know what to say

When I was in Vietnam I saw an entire shop in Hoinan devoted to what I would consider “decorative “ ship models. Not really scale although a few of the classic speedboat models were not bad. They could all be securely packed and shipped to your home. Assume they were made in Vietnam, although...
