1/30 HMS Royal Caroline Build

WIP------
Hello everyone. As I previously mentioned before, I am not 100% following the rigging guidelines set out by the authors of the book "Royal Yacht Caroline 1749".
I, along with many others see glaring & multiple discrepancies. I am going by the Rigging guidelines set out by James lee and some other references as well. Multiple sources show Shrouds being mostly made of Shroud Laid Rope. I have attached a few pics showing the difference between Cable Laid and Shroud Laid Rope for comparisons.
Onwards we go..................................................

OH wow Rick. Happy belated birthday. Cheers Grant

Incredible!! Share details about the figures. Did you 3D print, commission them or did they come with the kit?

How did you go from the white (resin??) to a stain that looks like wood?

Also, the painting of the figures is superb.

THANKS for sharing the photos but they have only left us starving for details.

I design the figures; they're already on my Cults channel. You can take a look. I have several figureheads and other decorative naval designs. I also do commissioned work.

Hello everyone, everywhere. A quick status update. I have completed the Fore, Main & Mizzen Lower Shrouds and getting ready to install the Futtock staves. As I previously stated in an earlier post, I am not following the Rigging in its entirely from the book - Anatomy of the ship (AOS) but instead using other references. I elected to install Sheer Poles on all three mast since they were very commonly used in this particular time period and I believe they would have been used for added security on such a important ship.1782890401705.png1782890417277.png1782890432194.png1782890444445.png1782890457145.png1782890466607.png
