Although like you I build ships I was given a 20 mile team borax model kit Thought it would be a nice break but there are only 19 mules I am seeking to purchase one mule to complete the model

There's a dead mule in the desert in every cowboy movie (sometimes in the dessert too).

If anyone ever asks where #20 is - 'It died, so we ate it.'

Where are you? I probably have one if I can find it. The recent blue plastic doesn't respond well to most solvent adhesives....

I built two of those kits years ago. The mules should be very easy to cast duplicates in epoxy resin. I'd make a couple of extras and tie them to the water wagon at the end of the "train." I'm sure they carried a "spare" or two in the "trunk"

Indeed, those kits were made of some strange type of plastic that was different from the usual kit styrene of the day. I found Duco cement worked fine for an adhesive, though. The worst part of the 20 Mule Team model was the tedium of freehand painting the tack harness on the mules.
