250th Celebration

the ships were spectacular! to see so many sails fully rigged n decked out just makes ya feel like a kid on Christmas morning. too bad they were so far from waters edge. binoculars really came in handy.

last time i saw this, i worked on Roosevelt island in the middle of the east river for op sail 1976 and watched all those ships from the roof of B.S. Coler hospital. then as the more spectacular ships came by, we ran down by the waters edge where i can almost toutch them as they passed. it was a memory that will last a life time.
