28 meter Yacht „Acvitannia“ sunk in Greece
A yacht with 18 people on board sank today off the Greek island of Milos in the Aegean Sea. Rescue workers brought all inmates, including three children, safely ashore, as the Greek coast guard announced. The castaways, all of whom come from Greece, were brought to Milos by ship and are all well.
The Greek coast guard had previously spoken of 17 rescued. The 28-meter-long yacht "Acvitannia", which was registered in Great Britain, was reportedly in distress 16 nautical miles off the Cycladic island of Milos and sank. A strong wind of up to 40 kilometers per hour blew in the region on Thursday.
After the accident, the coast guard started an extensive rescue operation involving three patrol boats, two helicopters, a military aircraft, a passenger ship and a freighter.

Die Küstenwache startete nach dem Unglück eine umfangreiche Rettungsaktion, an der drei Patrouillenboote, zwei Hubschrauber, ein Militärflugzeug, ein Passagierschiff und ein Frachter beteiligt waren.
