I have done many high detailed high polygons 3D models for micromaster.nz but finally decide to accept the challenge from a client to create the SS. James R. trawler so need a place to learn more about modeling ships found you.

Me too. Using research and Fusion 360 to help design kits for a high-end Croation company, including modeling hulls from dimensions, draughts and painting, spars and rigging, and instructions. Toughest thing is trying to understand plans with unusual details, and doing CAD work where lofting cannot compute. I am not at the mesh level.

Glad to share space with other modellers, I use C4D, and other tools, feel free to ask anything about modeling hard mats, I do not sculpt, but just started working with height maps to create meshes like carved from pictures, for 3D print or CNC. I did a couple of meshes for boat badges like this one for HMS Rangatira or the carved flowers etc. Even not using the same app, the work flow is usually the same, so you're all welcome to ask me how I would approach creating a part in 3D.
