Yes, I plan to do a part 2 and I will focus on ships parts like how to taper mast and yards and such. Yes, I used a drill as my very first lathe. Nothing wrong with that at all. My only drawback that I had was the drill RPM was just too slow. The other advantage of using a drill is that you are not limited on the length of dowel or whatever you need to turn.
